Aimersoft DVD Ripper can help you convert DVD video into other formats. Ripping movies from DVD may be necessary if you intend to watch them on various devices. It has a nice and intuitive interface, so it is unlikely that you find any difficulty using this software. Unfortunately, the range of supported languages is too limited for a multi-language interface.
The program supports various sources, including DVD discs, IFO files and ISO images. It can also detect chapters with their accompanying subtitles and audio tracks. This way, you will not need to extract all the DVD contents, as only the selected chapters will be converted. Moreover, the program can embed the selected subtitles with no need to use external files. This comes in handy when you wish to watch the movies on devices not supporting that type of subtitles.
Some basic editing actions can be performed on the videos. These include cropping the frame area, watermarking and adjusting picture parameters. The application also allows you to trim a given segment from a chapter.
When you have set the input parameters, you can proceed to convert. But before that, you should select an output profile. Although the program supports multiple general-purpose formats, it seems to be specifically biased towards portable parameters, as there is a comprehensive list of these gadgets to choose from. While it is true that an expert user may prefer to use customized conversion settings, the availability of these built-in profiles ensures the resulting video will play seamlessly on the intended device. However, you can also use completely personalized settings and save them for later use.
In general, Aimersoft DVD Ripper is a fine application. I used it to extract movies from a DVD folder and it did it just as expected. It is surprisingly fast because it supports modern hardware technologies. I had only one difficulty when, due to an unknown reason, the application’s shortcut lost track of the corresponding executable file.
